The Director of Contextual Theology is an administrator and part-time instructor. The incumbent will engage in instruction, administration, oversight, and development of field education, clinical pastoral education (CPE) and continuing education. The Director will be expected to advance the integration of these programs and vocational issues in academic courses, serving as the primary instructor for the required Field Education practicums and program manager for continuing education and clinical pastoral education. Goals for the programs include expanding beyond religious institutions to include such areas as: legislative and public policy advocacy; non-profit management; contemplative spirituality; and international placements. The Director of Contextual Theology must provide support as students engage in reflection upon practical theological issues and negotiate the theory/praxis intersection of theological education.
