We are continuing to offer alumni/ae of the program an opportunity during the summers to rekindle the enrichment, learning, and growth experienced in the ACTS D.Min in Preaching program. Alumni/ae are invited to consider returning to Hyde Park in Chicago to engage in one of the elective courses.

Last summer we were very fortunate to have an unusually strong slate of professors teaching the elective courses during the 2011 Summer Residency. The elective courses last summer were:

• David Bartlett - Preaching Apologetics                                                                       
• Barbara Lundblad - Feminist Perspectives in Preaching                                        
• Craig Satterlee - Mystagogy: Creative Preaching on Worship & Sacraments
• Frank Thomas - Preaching as Celebration                                                                 
• Paul Scott Wilson - Renewing Preaching: An Advanced Survey                         

Courses with available space are offered as a Continuing Education Unit (CEU) for alumnae/i interested in joining the program participants in an elective course!

Expectations for a CEU include full participation in the week of class including the readings. The follow-up sermon, taping, and paper would not be required to receive a CEU for a course. 

The cost for taking a course is $300 plus transportation, housing, and meals. Housing information will be available from the Program Office in the same way as when you were in the program.
